    报告人简介：
    李德立，加拿大湖首大学统计学教授（Tenured Full Professor of Statistics），于1994年获得加拿大University of Regina 概率统计专业博士；1995\01-1995\12和1997/09-1998/08在加拿大York University和University of Alberta从事博士后研究工作。1998年进入湖首大学工作至今，其研究兴趣为高维数据分析、概率统计极限理论及其应用。现已发表学术论文 90 余篇，其中一些发表在顶级杂志The Annals of Probability、Probability Theory and Related Fields、The Annals of Applied Probability上。主持加拿大国家自然科学基金（NSERC）5项。
    报告摘要：
    The central limit theorem has been around for almost 280 years and has many applications, especially in the world of probability theory and mathematical statistics. In this talk, we study central limit theory along subsequences of sums of i.i.d. random variables, and provided negative answers to two problems related to the determination of reasonable values of the studied population mean. The results could be used in statistical data mining and spatial statistics.
